Bunn Brewer Troubleshooting Guide
Bunn brewers run 24/7 in many commercial settings, and minor issues compound fast. Here is how to identify the most common Bunn brewer failures.
Slow Brewing or Weak Coffee
Clogged sprayhead is almost always the cause. Replace the sprayhead and sprayhead deflector — cheap, takes 60 seconds. Then run a descale cycle.
No Water Flow
Inlet solenoid valve failed or clogged. Verify water supply, then replace the solenoid valve. We stock OEM Bunn valves for all current and legacy brewers.
Water Not Heating
Heating element failed or high-limit thermostat tripped. Use a multimeter on the element terminals; open circuit = bad element. Reset the high-limit; if it trips again, replace it.
Brewer Overflowing
Flow restrictor either missing or wrong size. Confirm the correct flow restrictor for your model. Or the funnel is clogged.
Server or Warmer Not Keeping Coffee Hot
Warmer base element failure or thermostat drift. Both are stocked replacements.
Brew Cycle Stops Mid-Brew
Thermal cutoff in tank tripped (low water) or timing relay failure. Check water supply first.
