Common Vulcan Repair Scenarios
Vulcan oven not heating: Most commonly a failed igniter, burned-out hi-limit thermostat, or a failed gas safety valve. Igniters are the cheapest replacement and should be tried first. See our Vulcan oven troubleshooting blog post for the full diagnostic flow.
Vulcan fryer pilot will not stay lit: Almost always a failed thermocouple or a clogged pilot orifice. Both are quick fixes with the right ChefParts kit.
Vulcan griddle uneven heat: Look at burner spacing and individual burner assemblies. Failed thermostats cause cold or hot spots in specific zones. We stock OEM thermostats for all Vulcan griddle generations.
Vulcan range knob stuck: Internal valve stem corrosion. Replace the gas valve with the OEM part. Generic replacements often leak.
OEM vs Aftermarket
For safety-critical parts (gas valves, thermostats, igniters), we recommend OEM Vulcan parts to maintain warranty and meet code requirements. For commodity parts (knobs, drip trays, baskets, gaskets), aftermarket is often a fraction of the cost with identical fit and function. Each product page clearly indicates OEM vs aftermarket.
